Further information

This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is unusual as it is one of the last remaining areas on the south coast that is relatively under-developed, and as such retains its sense of isolation and natural wilderness. You really get the sense that you've escaped from it all.

The Harbour and surrounding area is important for wildlife and is of international importance for nature conservation and is protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs). Look out for Cormorants, Egrets, oystercatchers, herons, and seals as we paddle. The harbour has a long maritime history, being a Roman port and the seat of King Canut. It’s now a thriving leisure port filled with moored yachts and racing fleets.

We want you to paddle efficiently and safely on your own trips, not just when you are with us. On this trip, you can just paddle and enjoy the view, or take advantage of Phil’s years of paddling and water time to learn more about, equipment, tides, hazards in the river environment and how to mitigate them so you can plan your own trips safely and enhance your enjoyment of SUP.
