Further information

Join us on the West Coast of Scotland for an unforgettable 4 day, 3-night expedition into the wild.

After departing under the shadow of the Famous Glenfinnan monument on the ‘Road to the Isles’ we will paddle away from civilization down Loch Shiel, the 4th longest loch In Scotland. The scenery in this northern end of the loch is spectacular as we are flanked by towering mountains and deep glens on either side.

The mountainous scenery gives way to lowland pasture and bog as the Loch turns Westward before draining into the River Shiel. A visit to the ancient burial island of Eilean Fhianain and the ruins of St. Finan's Chapel is a highlight on this stretch of the expedition.

Before you know it we will be back on seawater as we enter the stunning Loch Moidart. There is lots to see here so we will definitely linger around a bit. before we will paddle out into The Sound of Arisaig, passing the white sands of Smirisary beach before heading around the coast to finish the trip at Glenuig. Throughout the trip, we will be on the lookout for Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Otters, Herons, Oyster Catchers, Porpoise, and if we are really. really lucky, Pine Martins and even Wild Cats! Of course, there will also be plenty of inquisitive Seals.

Spectacular sunsets, amazing rainbows, and crumbling ruins are all par for the course on this trip so get your cameras ready.

This is an Expedition, so we will be paddling unsupported, carrying everything we need on our boards. Camping will be in tents on the banks of the Lochs, and all food will be provided (special dietary requirements can be catered for). At the end of the last day, we will head off for a hearty meal (at your cost) before the group disbands. If it's an adventure you’re after, look no further as this trip really has it all, so leave your phone at home and come ‘escape your cave’ with us.

Your safety is paramount, we use a 1:4 ratio. Our trip leaders are highly qualified WSA Expedition and Adventure guides with advanced first aid qualifications. They are experienced in operating in wilderness areas. Leashes and buoyancy aids must be worn at all times on the water unless instructed differently by your guide.

A full equipment list will be sent on booking. We are happy for you to bring your own SUP but it must be able to carry equipment and you must be comfortable on it in choppy water. Having the right equipment is really important and if you are bringing your own board you must contact us to advise us of the make and model. We will advise on suitability. We can help by hiring you, suitable boards. We insist on coiled leashes and buoyancy aids and can help if required.
